Habiba is a 24 year-old journalist and blogger from London, UK. In 2014, she graduated from City University London with a degree in BA Creative Industries and since then, she has been\u00a0working with BBC News as a Broadcast Journalist, focusing on online journalism.<\/em><\/p>\n

She has been featured in\u00a0Cosmopolitan<\/a>\u00a0Magazine (UK) in 2016 for a feature called\u00a0The Rise of High Functioning Anorexics<\/a>. Recently, she did an interview with\u00a0Women\u2019s Health<\/a>\u00a0(UK) magazine for their Strong Minds feature on mental health, in which she speaks openly about her struggle with BPD and anorexia.<\/em>
\nWhen you have a long term or a chronic illness and need to take a variety of medications at different times of the day, it can be hard to keep track of it. You might even forget to take them, which isn\u2019t ideal.<\/p>\n

I\u2019m on long term medication for mental health issues and joint pain and the amount of medication I need to take, at a specific time with a specific dose can overwhelm me. But, I\u2019ve come across an app called Medisafe and I don\u2019t think I can live without it now.<\/p>\n

Medisafe is an app (on iOS and Android) that reminds you to take your medications at the correct time. It has a simple design with daily pill schedules which is divided into four sections \u2013 morning, afternoon, evening and night. It also has reminders to refill your medication too.<\/p>\n

The app allows you to manually enter all your medications and the dose\/frequency into the app and set up reminders for times that is required.<\/p>\n

\nGetting a rather friendly notification on my phone from Medisafe really helps me to take my medication on time. It also has a feature to \u201cTake all\u201d so when you\u2019ve clicked it, it confirms that you\u2019ve taken the medication. If you haven\u2019t taken it after the first reminder, it will remind you a few more times \u2013 which I find helps me even more if I don\u2019t act the first time round. It\u2019s nice to have another nudge.<\/p>\n

I\u2019ve used other reminder apps in the past, but they weren\u2019t as simple and easy to use as Medisafe. The app keeps me organized and up to date on all my medications. I would highly recommend it, especially to those who are on medication long term.<\/p>\n
