In Honor of Men’s Health Month – 5 Health Tips for Men
June is Men’s Health Month. In honor of our male users, here are some tips for keeping healthy.
1. Check it out
Yes it’s true, the annual physical is still your best method for a comprehensive medical examination.. At every stage of life there are different recommended screenings such as Diabetes screenings, blood pressure screenings, heart disease prevention, eye exams and more, so don’t miss those appointments!
2. Mark Your Life as a “Non Smoking Zone”
Yes we know, you’ve heard this one time and time again. Cancer research says lung cancer is the #1 cause of cancer death in the United States. More fascinating is the fact that it’s the most preventable type of cancer too. Men who smoke are 25 times more likely to develop lung cancer than men who don’t. Quit smoking now for a clearer and healthier future.
3. Be Active
For general good health and fitness , it is recommended you fit 2 ½ hours of moderate-intensity aerobic activity per week. To lose weight, upgrade to 30 minutes of exercise per day along with a healthy diet. Being active is the secret to a good health and helps prevent future medical conditions.
4. Cut Soda Out
“Fructose” is one of the top 5 ingredients in your soda. It’s the one that makes your beverage sweet, but sadly it harms your body at the same time. Your soda drinking will end up expanding your waistline along with increasing your risk of high blood pressure and heart disease. So do yourself a favor, cut the soda out of your diet and consider increasing your daily water intake.
5. Watch Your Pants
Let’s be honest, this isn’t the most comfortable of topics. But, it’s an important one. Take care of your future fertility, don’t place your laptop on your lap. Your scrotum is meant to remain at relatively the same temperature in varying conditions. Research concluded that placing a laptop on your lap for a long while will heat your scrotum and cut off necessary airflow to the area. The desk is the safest bet.
Men, you’ve got this one! To your health!
